Part 2: Avignon



We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast every day in our hotel in Avignon. I can't get enough French bread and croissants.


Our hotel was just outside this Medieval wall that surrounds the center of Avignon.




This old church was just inside the wall. The gardens were still in full bloom.


The Gothic arches on this wall  showed that it was very old.


These old narrow streets were fascinating to walk down but I'd be reluctant to try driving them.  People did though and if they met another car, one of them had to back up.



This was actually a covered street or arcade.


One of the great pleasures of France is eating outside.  Here there were several
